Corrosion Resistant Alloys

Charles Thompson’s specialists can assist in the selection of the correct corrosion resistant alloys to match client requirements, liaising with your process engineers as necessary.

CTL has particular experience in the design & fabrication techniques of exotic elements / alloys such as Titanium, Zirconium & Tantalum, as well as Nickel Alloys, Duplex & Super Duplex and clad combinations in these materials to maximise corrosion resistance and product service life.

CTL boast one of the UK’s largest purpose built clean rooms facilities for the requirements of the more reactive metals, coupled by a dedicated clean shop for alloy fabrication guaranteeing complete segregation and preventing cross contamination during production.

Specialist heat treatments and specialist cleaning operations during different stages of fabrication can also be utilised to maximise corrosion resistance and product service life.

Charles Thompson’s Corrosion Resistant Metal and Alloy Department encompasses all products of the company.

  • Packaged process systems
  • Pipe Spools
  • Filtration and Drying equipment
  • Pressure Vessels
  • Heat exchangers
  • Bespoke corrosion resistant alloy / element general fabrication

Charles Thompson guarantees to maintain the corrosion resistance of the parent material by using welding and fabrication procedures and temperature control which have been specifically developed to prevent contamination from atmospheric gasses, cross contamination from other materials, dust and dirt.

Air sampling in the clean room is monitored using Ferroxyl testing for air Iron content.

Argon quality and the Argon piping systems are continuously monitored to ensure backing / trailing and purging gas maintains purity with no unexpected pressure drop utilizing bespoke designed regulators to meet our requirements. Dew point and O2 ppm levels periodically sampled to ensure levels are acceptable.
